Beaulieu

At the heart of William the Conqueror's New Forest on the banks of the Beaulieu River stands Palace House, once the Great Gatehouse of Beaulieu Abbey which contains the resident Montagu family treasures, portraits, photographs and memorabilia. Set in the beautiful gardens overlooking the Monks Hill Pond the site also contains the picturesque abbey building ruins which houses an art exhibition on monastic life in the middle ages. In addition the world renowned National Motor Museum houses a spectacular collection of motor vehicles and the Wheels ride experience which wonderfully evokes the spirit of the motoring age.
