Bodenham Arboretum has been awarded National Heritage status for a new English landscape and arboretum, and a Centre of Excellence by the Forestry Authority who described it as 'A showpiece woodland rich in habitats for wild flowers, water-fowl and other birds'. Over 2600 species of trees and shrubs, landscaped within 134 acres, incorporating a working farm. Four miles of paths through dells, glades, lakes and pools and fields where sheep and cattle graze and rare breeds and poultry roam. The unique underground visitors centre won the CLA Presidents Award for the Best New Rural Building in England ans Wales 1998/9.
