A lovely Elizabethan Hall filled with treasures collected by the family over four centuries from the fascinating original carving and plasterwork to a large collection of Impressionist and contemporary paintings. Recently commissioned works include a tapestry by Kaffe Fassett, gallery seat by John Makepeace and embroidery of the garden by Janet Haigh. The old walled garden was redeveloped in 1990 as a 'New Elizabethan Garden' and contains a potager of herbs and vegetables. There is a maze with a riddle to solve, a jungle garden with large and exotic plants to explore and giant board games to play in coloured gardens. Overall there is a large collection of shrub roses, clematis, perennials and herbs. There is a dried flower workroom and shop in the courtyard.
