Glynde Place is a magnificent Elizabethan Manor House with fine views of the South Downs. It was built in 1569 from local flint and stone from Normandy but was extensively added on to in the 18th century, with the building of a new stable block, a new village church and the erection of the distinctive lead wyverns. Inside the house there is a collection of Old masters, family portraits, furniture, embroidery and silver all belonging to the family who has lived there for over 400 years. The house is surrounded by a garden giving spectacular views across the park towards the Pevensey Marshes.
