Great Dixter, birthplace and home of gardening writer, Christopher Lloyd, was built c 1460 and boasts one of the largest timber-framed halls in the country. Sir Edwin Lutyens was employed to extend both the house and gardens in 1910. The gardens are now the hallmark of Christopher Lloyd who has devoted his lifetime to creating one of the most experimental, exciting and constantly changing gardens of our time
