Hergest Croft Gardens lie in the heart of the Welsh Marches with stunning views towards the Black Mountains. Created over 100 years ago by three generations of the Banks family with hidden valleys, woodland glades, open parkland, gorgeous flower borders and striking autumn colour. Four distinct gardens covering 50 acres with over 4000 rare shrubs and trees. The Kitchen Garden contains ancient apple trees over a riot of bulbs in spring with 120 foot double herbaceous borders, old fashioned rose garden and traditional fruit and vegetable garden. The Edwardian House is surrounded by many special plants including magnolias, cherries and hydrangeas, tall yew hedges and scented lilies. Park Wood (presently closed due to foot and mouth restrictions) has giant rhododendrons and exotic trees. The Azalea Garden contains a massive avenue of cedars and spectacular azaleas with birches and maples which form part of the National Collections held at Hergest Croft.
